Welcome to Heart To Art Club.
— a community magazine from Neurodivergent writer, Sophie Hale. A cosy space for creatives who write their own rules.
— grab a cup and join us at the creative cafe (no small talk required)
I’m Sophie Hale, a Neurodivergent writer and deep-feeler. I’m currently working on my first novel, This is Me Trying, and have been writing online for 5 years now about all things Neurodiversity, Motherhood, Creativity, and Slow living.
I’m also qualified as a wellness + emotional regulation mentor, often blending my love for creativity with its healing properties to help inspire a balanced and fully expressed way of life.
I’m a big believer in living life on your terms and have been on an empowering journey of unmasking and being myself since my late ADHD diagnosis at the age of 32. Writing is my way of connecting with those around me, understanding my experience as someone who’s ‘different’ in society, and finding the courage to love myself for who I am.
I’m sharing everything I’ve learned about overcoming my limitations, embracing my differences, and taking messy action on my big dreams.
What you’ll find as a reader.
This isn’t where the boss babes hang out.
It’s a space for the book-loving, soft-hearted, unapologetic creatives. For the people who want a safe space to embrace their differences, write their own rules, process their deep feelings, and create art with it.
Here you’ll find articles and open diary entries on emotional wellness, creativity, and doing the hard thing softly.

My mission.
I have always been passionate about writing. I’ve kept a diary for as long as I could write. Writing is my safe space in a world that’s often felt unfamiliar, noisy, and filled with social norms that I find difficult to understand.
Since becoming a mum, and being diagnosed with ADHD in my thirties, I’ve been on a mission to stop putting my dreams on the back burner. I have created a life that is supportive of my well-being needs, satisfies my creative mind, and allows me to do life in a way that makes sense to me. It has been a life-changing journey and I feel hugely validated in who I came here to be. I now feel confident in embracing my differences and speaking my truth in my writing, and relationships.
I have spent a large portion of my life masking, trying desperately to fit in and people-pleasing to avoid feeling rejected. Now I’m in a place where I can confidently express how I feel, be who I came here to be, and take up space in the world.
Heart to Art Club is a space to share my truth, in the hope that my community feels less alone.
I hope my words and actions inspire you to be brave enough to forge your own path. Because nobody deserves to feel broken, too much, or not enough. I believe that you’re a gift, and your story needs to be shared.
A bit more about me;
Some fun facts!
I live in Liverpool, UK with my husband and two kids. Motherhood is my biggest challenge and greatest expander.
I’m an oat milk latte lover but these days, isn’t everyone?!
I’m a Taurus Sun, Libra Moon, and Cancer Rising girly.
I value slowness, softness, and seasonal living. The word ‘hustle’ isn’t in my vocabulary.
If I had to describe my life in three words it would be ‘cosy, creative chaos’.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 32, which has led to re-building a life of slowness to accommodate the needs of my sensitive nervous system. Creativity has been a place where I can unmask, be myself, and meet every version of myself with love.
A BIG Taylor Swift fan (before you ask, All Too Well - the 10-minute version is my fave).
I am obsessed with books - gimme all the Fantasy romance smut my arms can carry.
I am happiest outside in nature with my feet in the grass and a journal in my hand, watching my children play.
I’m a contradictory mix of an introvert who loves her own space and wants nothing more than to live off the grid, and an extrovert who thrives off deep conversations and human connection.
I am endlessly curious about life, love, and the human experience which means I’m always learning, oversharing, and asking intrusive questions at dinner parties.
